HISTORY OF DOXA
Doxa was founded by Rev. Osvaldo O. Marino M.Div., Psy.D., PhD. who began his teaching ministry in Philadelphia PA in 1976. In those days he understood that ministers needed practical training in counseling beyond their biblical studies, thus not only did he continued his own training in that field (beginning with studies under Jay Adams at the Christian Counseling Foundation) but almost immediately developed a training Institute that will later be transformed into "Doxa International University-Bible College & Seminary" As a seminary Doxa until 2009 had graduated more than 4000 students in the 25 years of its formal founding.

OUR NAME
Our name Doxa (Greek = Glory) was selected by a clear meaning in its Greek original. Vine's Expository Dictionary defines the word as:"Glory ..., as the Glory of God ... is what He is and the way He acts essentially as He exhibits Himself in everything in which He chooses to manifest. Particularly in the person of Christ, in whom is essentially where His glory shone more perfectly. John 17:5,24 .... This word denotes the obvious perfection of His character, especially His justice, which every man does not reach... ". By choosing this name for our university, we see the faculty, the administrative staff and students to conduct their affairs, under the shining of God's glory which motivates and inspires to walk to please Him and to extended ourselves to others with His love.
OUR LOGO
Was painted by one of our seminary student in 1986 when he understood how we integrated psychology with biblical teachings. You can observe the silhouette of a person who was in prison and is coming out to freedom. The prison door is shaped like a head, showing that the inner depths of the mind was in prison. We also see a dove flying out of jail after opening (see a key in its beak) The Holy Spirit accomplishes this task by the faith placed in the work of Christ on the Cross (projecting the cross from inside the jail). If we approach those who as creatures of God receive through our counseling existential liberation so as to transform themselves in healthy human beings, we would have accomplished the purpose of our mission and vision.
